Life long learning – the age of the Podcast

Engaging a Growth Mindset is a sure way to improve your personal approach toward new challenges or how you address continued education. It also helps to have a level of curiosity and interest in learning new things, with an added benefit that learning (anything) will keep the brain stimulated and has scientifically proven effects to ward of dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease*.

Remembering that agile methodology is, ‘… is an approach to development under which requirements and solutions evolve through the collaborative effort of self-organising and cross-functional teams and their customer/end user” in other words the way you delivery work is up to you as you are empowered to make decisions and work with a team of experts towards delivery of each feature you are working on.

  • But how do you know if you are doing things the right way?
  • Is there a better way or smarter/faster way to learn, rather than going through all the steps on your own?
  • I don’t have a lot of time to devote to undertaking a certification or course.

If you enjoy listening to interesting podcasts I have collated a handy list here to get you started:

This is just a taste what is out there and many episodes are less than 30mins – easy enough to listen to at lunch, while gardening, walking the dog or on your way to work. Then share your learnings with your team mates, colleagues or anyone who will listen and try to put your learnings into practice.

Learning can be fun and need not occupy every waking moment – you don’t need to be an ‘agile evangelist’ to keep you motivated towards a liberated way of working, one that gives you purpose and uses your brain.
